SLIM CHANDRA-SHEKAR
ABOUT SLIM
Slim Chandra-Shekar is a California-based abstract artist who works from his home studio in San Rafael using acrylics and mixed media.
Slim is primarily a self-taught artist who creates abstract paintings inspired by his own personal healing journey and his path as a shaman. He studied for two years with shamanic teacher Dr. Alberto Villoldo and the mountain shamans of Peru, the Q’ero.
Originally from India, Slim lived in Germany for over twenty years before moving to California in 1988 – he is fluent in German and has a working knowledge of French. After 40 years in the business world, he discovered the world of Art and the joy of painting following the passing of his late wife in 2005. He has a Master’s Degree in Business from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.
Slim’s intention for his art is to energize and bring life to the space where it resides. More importantly, his intention is to create awareness for the environmental issues that our planet is facing.
Every piece is accompanied by a shamanic blessing.
Slim’s art is created as a result of shamanic dreaming and meditation. It involves a contemplative and meditative process prior to and during the creation of a piece.
